They want nursing homes to cut the use of antibiotics. But do the newly designated Infection Control Designee (ICD) know how? There has been classes that ICD nurses attended. However, there has been little focus on the class that they have attended on AMS Program. We should provide these nurses with better tools and training. I think its time that better classes are offered that allows these nurses to be better equipped with the knowledge of antibiotics and infection and how to execute the functions of an ICD.
